Love That Rain!

It's been raining for 2 days straight here. Last night I drove Kelly to Emporia. It went by so fast we had to watch to make sure we hadn't passed it. We talked the entire time and it was great. We ate dinner, I dropped her at the motel and then drove back in the rain. It was so sweet that she called to make sure I made it home all right. Yesterday was a great day for reading. I laid on the couch and read and would get up every once in a while to do a load of laundry or straighten something. I finished the book today and immediately went to the library to get more books. (Like I have nothing here to read!) I tried the Lackman library and they have so many books on CD, but I'm not spending much time in the car, so I forced myself not to pick one up. Jim and I watched a movie tonight with Harrison Ford-Firewall. He's really getting too old to play the hero in a fight against someone 30 years his junior. However, he still looks good. I can't believe Carmelle saw him in the flesh at the LA city market. I'm so jealous.
Mary and Laverne and I went to breakfast this morning and decided to meet every last Saturday of the month for breakfast. We are also going to get together and working on putting our photos into albums. That should be a good time. No scrapbooking for us, but mostly organization.
It has quit raining so I don't know how much reading I'll get done now. The new book better be good.

It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been relaxing after leaving my job on June 4. I had class for three weeks Monday through Friday 9-12. I've had time to read books, knit, crochet, garden, walk, cook, paint, etc. I could feel all the tension leave my body that first week. I've even been able to sleep until 7:30 at times. Today Kathie and I went shopping in Leavenworth and at the Legends. It was nice to spend the day with her, eating lunch together and looking and oohing and ahhing over cute baby outfits. She bought the smallest pair of converse tennis shoes for the new baby. By the way we got a phone call from Bryan that the baby is due Feb. 12. No bigger than a peanut, so they don't know the sex. Not sure they want to know, but I do. If it is a girl, there are a lot of darling outfits out there to buy. Some cute ones for boys too. That's enough for now. I'll try to stay on top of things.
